Reindeer Camp Dinner and Northern Lights

This tour is operated by Tromsø Arctic Reindeer.

Travel from Tromsø to a reindeer camp surrounded by Arctic nature. Here, you can walk among and feed a herd of around 300 reindeer while learning about reindeer herding.

After meeting the herd, warm up around the fire inside a candlelit lavvu. A traditional dinner of bidos, Sámi reindeer stew, and Sámi bread is served with hot drinks. Chocolate cake and blueberry dessert are served while your Sámi hosts share stories about Sámi culture, history and life as reindeer herders.

The evening also includes joik, a traditional form of Sámi singing. If the sky is clear and conditions are favourable, you may also have the opportunity to see the Northern Lights outside the camp. However, sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Food and drinks: A traditional dinner of bidos, Sámi reindeer stew, and Sámi bread is included. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free alternatives are available. Please provide details of any food allergies or dietary requirements when booking.

Please bring: At least two layers of warm clothing, a warm hat, mittens and winter boots
