Join the Daily Feeding of Our Reindeer Herd!

General information

Come meet and feed our friendly herd of 30 reindeer on this enriching, family-friendly experience!

Your adventure begins at 10:45 AM outside the Radisson Blu Hotel in Tromsø. Look out for our smiling guide dressed in a white t-shirt with the Tromsø Lapland logo on the front, standing in front of the Tromsø Lapland bus. After checking your tickets and confirming your meal preferences or any allergies, you’ll be welcomed aboard our comfortable coach.

Then, sit back and relax during a scenic 45-minute drive to our reindeer camp. Along the way, take in the stunning views of Northern Norway’s majestic mountains and fjords, dressed in the vibrant greens and blossoms of the season. With long daylight hours, this is nature at its most alive!

Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by a Sámi guide who will provide a short introduction on how to interact with the reindeer respectfully and safely. Then it’s time to head to the enclosure and meet the stars of the show—our gentle reindeer, who are always excited for their daily feeding (especially straight from your hand!).

As you take in the magnificent Lyngen Alps in the background, your guide will share insights into reindeer husbandry and the Sámi way of life—how these northern communities have lived alongside and cared for reindeer for generations.

Once the reindeer are well-fed and happy, it’s time for lunch! We’ll gather inside our gamme—a cozy, modern version of a traditional Sámi hut—where you’ll be served refreshing drinks and a light meal featuring locally sourced Norwegian salmon with bread.

While relaxing in the gamme, you’ll learn more about daily life in the Arctic, Sámi traditions, and explore a fascinating display of Sámi artifacts and clothing.

Before heading back, there will be time for a bathroom break and a visit to our charming souvenir shop, where you can pick up a memento of your Arctic experience.

Come feed the reindeer, connect with Sámi culture, and enjoy a peaceful Arctic escape just outside Tromsø!
