About us

Embark on a journey into the heart of Norway’s Arctic wilderness with our authentic reindeer sledding experience at Camp Tamok. Your adventure begins with a comfortable 90-minute bus ride from Tromsø, transporting you to the remote and breathtaking Tamok Valley, where our wilderness camp is nestled.

Upon arrival, your experienced guide will greet you and provide thermal suits, boots, and gloves to ensure you stay warm and comfortable in the Arctic winter. After a short transfer by minibus, you’ll meet our friendly reindeer herd, a small group of 5-6 reindeer, ready to take you on a gentle sledding tour through the snowy landscape.Your guide will share fascinating stories about Sami culture, traditions, and the deep connection between the Sami people and their reindeer. You’ll even have the chance to feed the animals, creating a personal connection with these iconic Arctic creatures.

After your sledding adventure, return to Camo Tamok and relax in a traditional Sámi lavvu, a cozy indigenous tent. Enjoy a warm meal and hot drinks by the fire, sharing stories of your adventure with fellow travelers. This cozy setting provides the perfect opportunity to soak in the atmosphere and reflect on your Arctic experience. As the day comes to an end, you’ll board the bus back to Tromsø, taking with you unforgettable memories of this unique cultural adventure.

Restrictions:

  • Minimum age: 4 y/o
  • This activity is not suitable for wheelchair users.
  • Pets are not allowed.
  • Please inform us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions upon booking. If no notice is given in advance, an extra fee of 150 NOK will be charged.


Important Information:

  • The reindeer herd exists of 5-6 reindeer.
  • Cancellation due to weather: For the safety of animals and guests, there’s a small risk of cancellation in dangerous surface conditions (bad weather conditions). In those cases you will be offered to reschedule your tour to a different location or time slot, another substitute product, or a full refund. 
  • You should be prepared for outdoor weather conditions which can be harsh and unpredictable during Arctic winter.
  • For the safety and comfort of all guests, our staff reserve the right to decline participation for anyone whose condition or behavior raises a safety concern, including but not limited to intoxication, being under the influence, or unsafe conduct.
  • Tours may be cancelled or rescheduled if there are fewer than 2 participants. You will be notified in advance if this happens.
