General information

This tour is operated by Destination Tromsø.

Join a calm and authentic Arctic adventure with reindeer sledding at Camp Tamok.

The experience starts with a comfortable 90-minute bus ride from Tromsø to the beautiful Tamok Valley, where our wilderness camp is located. Upon arrival, your experienced guide will greet you and provide thermal suits, boots and mittens to ensure you stay warm and comfortable in the Arctic winter.

After a short transfer by minibus, you will meet our friendly reindeer herd, a small group of 5–6 reindeer. Here, you join a gentle reindeer sledding tour through the snowy landscape.

Along the way, your guide will share fascinating stories about Sámi culture, traditions and the close connection between the Sámi people and their reindeer. You will also have the opportunity to feed the reindeer, creating a personal and memorable experience with these iconic Arctic animals.

After the reindeer sledding tour, you return to Camp Tamok and relax in a traditional Sámi lavvu. Here, you can enjoy a warm meal and hot drinks by the fire while sharing experiences from the day with fellow travellers.

The warm and cosy atmosphere gives you time to slow down, enjoy the surroundings and reflect on your Arctic experience. As the day comes to an end, you return to Tromsø by bus.
