Reindeer Sledding, Feeding and Sámi Culture - Afternoon

General information

This tour is operated by Tromsø Lapland.

The camp is located around 50 minutes from Tromsø city centre, in a valley surrounded by snow-covered mountains with views towards the Lyngen Alps.

Upon arrival, Sámi guides will take you on an approximately 20-minute reindeer sled ride. Afterwards, you can enter the reindeer enclosure, meet and feed the herd, and take photos in the peaceful surroundings.

A traditional Sámi lunch of bidos will be served. Bidos is a warming reindeer stew accompanied by bread and margarine. Vegan and gluten-free alternatives are available.

After lunch, you will gather inside the lavvu, a traditional Sámi tent. Here, a Sámi guide will share stories about Sámi culture, traditions and everyday life with reindeer. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

Please note:

• The sled ride is dependent on suitable snow conditions, and its duration may need to be adjusted. If the sled ride cannot take place, you will receive a partial refund. The remainder of the tour will continue as planned.
• The maximum weight for the sled ride is 120 kg per person.

Accessibility for guests with reduced mobility:
