Experience Sámi culture and reindeer herding on a guided tour from Tromsø, including reindeer feeding, a short sled ride, lasso throwing and stories in a heated lávvu.

General information

This tour is operated by Best Arctic in cooperation with Samiway.

Travel from Tromsø to Camp Breivikeidet, where you will meet Nils Peder and the Samiway family and get an insight into Sámi culture, reindeer herding and traditions.

At the camp, you will meet the reindeer up close and have the opportunity to feed them by hand. You will also enjoy a peaceful 10–15-minute reindeer sled ride and experience a traditional way of travelling that has been part of reindeer herding for generations. In addition, you can try lasso throwing, a traditional skill with a long history in Sámi reindeer herding.
