Small and beautiful – highlights of the world’s northernmost botanic garden

per person
The botanical garden in Tromsø is beautifully situated in a sunny location by the university campus a few kilometres north of the city centre.
General information
The garden displays plants from the Arctic and from mountains in all parts of the world. The garden landscape reflects geological features typical for mountains and the Arctic tundra. In addition, the garden holds a large exhibition of plants traditionally used for food, spices, dyeing and ornamentation in northern Norwegian households over several hundred years. The participants on the tours will get to experience a floral splendour that you would hardly believe could grow so far north. Experienced garden staff will guide the participants to the parts of the garden that are in their best flower splendour. The guides will talk about the various plant displays, explaining places of origin and habitat requirements, etc. The themes for the tours will vary from week to week, and for those who have the opportunity, it may therefore be well worth attending the tours several times during the summer season.
