Experience a snowmobile tour from Tromsø through the Arctic winter landscape of Tamokdalen, with return transport and a warm meal included.

General information

This tour is operated by Destination Tromsø.

The tour begins with a 90-minute bus journey from Tromsø city centre to Camp Tamok in Tamokdalen. Upon arrival, you will receive a thermal suit, boots, mittens, a balaclava and helmet. Your guide will provide safety instructions and training before the snowmobile tour begins.

Follow the guide through the Arctic winter landscape, passing snow-covered mountains, frozen rivers and valleys. Two people normally share each snowmobile and take turns driving and riding as a passenger. A stop is made halfway through the tour to switch drivers and enjoy the surroundings. Solo driving can be booked for an additional fee.

After the snowmobile tour, you will return to Camp Tamok for a warm meal and hot drinks around the fire in a traditional Sámi lavvu before travelling back to Tromsø by bus.

During the peak season, the group may be divided into two. One group will begin with the snowmobile tour, while the other starts with the meal in the lavvu.
