A great way to enjoy the nature and get up close with the reindeer. Before starting the snowshoeing tour, you will have the opportunity to meet and feed a herd of reindeer. Then, you are provided with snowshoeing equipment (snowshoes, poles) and we take you on a snowshoeing tour to the hills near our camp. Finish the day by gathering around a fire and by enjoying a traditional meal.

About Tromsø Arctic Reindeer
We are a traditional Reindeer herding family offering authentic Sami Reindeer experience with over 300 Reindeer at the camp within a 30-minute drive from Tromsø.
We offer a number of tours, including Reindeer Sledding, and you will be hosted by local Sami Reindeer herders who will show and teach you about Reindeer herding and Sami culture. You get to feed these magnificent animals and experience the joy of being close to Reindeer, the feeling of coming into a warm lavvu (Sami tent) and gamme (Sami Wooden Hut), the smells and tastes of traditional Sami food and the sounds of the traditional joik.
All of our tours are family-friendly and suitable for even the youngest of children and infants. On our tours we offer traditional and delicious Sami food and are happy to cater for special food requests such as vegetarian and gluten-free diets.
We are always ready to help as much as we can with any restrictions or disabilities our guests might have to make sure all our guests can participate in all activities. Please check the website for more details on each individual tour or get in touch if you have any questions.
