Welcome to Sommarbukt in Sjursnes, a private hideaway located between the Ulsfjord and the majestic Lyngen Alps. This is Arctic Norway at its most breathtaking, with open landscapes and deep silence. It is the perfect place to truly escape.

Our Scandinavian wooden holiday homes are made for slowing down, with panoramic windows, warm interiors and the rare feeling of being far away without sacrificing comfort.

Wake up to the crisp Arctic air, enjoy your morning coffee with friends and family, and take in the breathtaking views of the fjord and mountains. In season, you can even watch the northern lights from the comfort of your very own Mountain Hideout.

When you're ready to explore, the region offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including dogsledding, snowshoeing, skiing, whale watching, Arctic fjord tours, and northern light safaris.

Sommarbukt is being developed as an intimate 'mini village' concept with up to 12 homes, focused on privacy, calmness, and nature right outside your door. It is an ideal base for couples, friends, and families looking for a premium Arctic experience.


Activities, accessibility, sustainability & food (overview)

• Activity: Boat rental (fjord exploration & fishing)
Sommarbukt offers boat rental so guests can explore the fjord at their own pace. Enjoy a calm fjord cruise, take in the scenery from the water, and try your luck fishing – a truly local Arctic experience right on your doorstep.

• Tromsø offers activities through trusted local operators (e.g., dogsledding, snowshoeing, skiing, fjord tours, whale watching and northern lights safaris).

• Accessibility: Not currently marketed as universally accessible. Please contact us before booking and we will provide clear, practical details about access, thresholds/steps and bathroom layout.

• Families: The holiday homes are well-suited as a spacious base for families (up to 6 people). For toddlers (0–3), we recommend contacting us in advance to confirm practical and safety-related details (e.g., stairs/terrain), so expectations are fully aligned.

• Eco certification: Not eco-certified at present.

• Food service: No on-site food service (self-catering) – fully equipped kitchen.

• Vegetarian/vegan options: Not applicable as we do not provide food service. Self-catering makes it easy to adapt meals to any dietary needs. A Joker grocery store in Sjursnes is only a few minutes’ drive away for everyday essentials.

• Local food focus: We’re happy to recommend local produce and suppliers in the region.
