Step into a living winter story: Arctic animals along the road, a glowing fire in the lavvo, Sami traditions, and the gentle magic of Christmas on the coast.

General information

The moment we begin our drive toward the sea, the experience truly begins. The landscape opens gently, and nature often gifts us with beautiful surprises. Reindeer may appear like quiet travellers along the road, elk may stand peacefully at the edge of the forest, and now and then a sea eagle glides high above us with calm, steady wingbeats. Some days, the shoreline comes alive with the soft heads of seals or the quick movements of an otter. And as we get closer to our destination, the sight of our coral-white beach glowing in the blue winter light is both rare and breathtaking.

When we arrive, we welcome you straight into our lavvo, the traditional gathering place of the North. Here, the warmth of the bonfire, the smell of burning wood, and the soft flicker of the flames create a feeling of comfort that settles straight in the heart. This is where we sit together — guests and hosts side by side — sharing stories the way our families always have.

We’ll tell you how people here lived through long winters, how the sea shaped everyday life, and how traditions kept families connected. And because our own family carries Sámi roots, you’ll also hear the stories that have been passed down to us — tales of culture, reindeer herding, deep respect for nature, and the quiet strength of Arctic people.

After our time in the lavvo, the cosy Christmas atmosphere continues at the farm. The old wooden house glows with candlelight, the decorations are traditional and heartfelt, and the whole place carries the calm, familiar feeling of “jul” — the warmth that has helped northern families through the darkest months for generations.

While you relax and enjoy the moment, we serve creamy Christmas porridge, warm, sweet non-alcoholic glühwein, and crisp gingerbread — simple, comforting flavours that belong to this season and always bring people together.

We look forward to welcoming you — into our lavvo, into our traditions, into our stories, and into the heart-warming Christmas spirit of our home by the sea.
P.S. If we’re lucky, we might even see the northern lights on our way back to town.
