Tromsø Mountain Challenge

On 22–23 August 2026, Tromsø Mountain Challenge invites you to a weekend of trail running, fresh mountain air and true running joy in beautiful Northern Norwegian nature.

This Arctic running adventure takes place at the end of summer, when the air is crisp and Northern Norway begins to shine in its autumn colours. The varied trails take you through mountains, plateaus and Arctic landscapes, with views that make the challenge worth every step.

Choose between several races, from Dalheim Rundt in more family-friendly surroundings to the La Sportiva HalvUltraløpet, the La Sportiva Ultraløpet and the challenging Ekstremløpet. The 50 km ultra race starts from Snarbyeidet, while the 25 km half ultra race starts from TUIL Arena. Several of the races finish with a spectacular descent through beautiful Tromsdalen Valley and the finish line at TUIL Arena.

Whether you are taking part for the first time or returning for another mountain running adventure, Tromsø Mountain Challenge offers trails that test both strength and endurance – and views you will not forget.

Mountain running can be demanding, and the weather may change quickly. It is important to bring the right equipment and to put safety first along the way.
