The journey
We depart Tromsø in the morning and head north through breathtaking fjords framed by dramatic mountains, remote islands, and vast stretches of untouched wilderness. The voyage itself is part of the experience, as the Arctic light paints the landscape in ever-changing colors – from soft pastel hues to crisp winter brilliance.
The Whales
Skjervøy is one of the world’s best locations for whale watching, attracting thousands of visitors each year. Here, humpback whales and orca (killer whales) gather to feed on the enormous schools of herring that migrate into the fjords during the winter months. With some luck, you may also encounter fin whales or even playful harbor porpoises.
Watching these magnificent animals hunt, breach, and move gracefully through the water is a humbling and awe-inspiring experience – a rare chance to witness the raw power of nature at close range.
Onboard experience
Throughout the trip, our knowledgeable crew will provide live guiding, sharing stories and insights about the whales, local wildlife, and the cultural history of the region.
To make your journey comfortable, coffee and tea are included on board. You may also pre-order a meal before departure, and we offer a selection of snacks and drinks for purchase during the voyage. The heated indoor lounges of Trondheimsfjord II provide panoramic views, while spacious outdoor decks allow you to step outside for that perfect photo opportunity.
