About us

Escape Tromsø and travel into the quiet wilderness of Camp Tamok in the Tamok Valley, a 90-minute bus ride away. This experience is designed around the Northern Lights, but they can never be guaranteed, as they depend on weather and solar activity. Regardless of conditions, you spend a memorable evening outdoors in a true Arctic wilderness setting, surrounded by snow, silence, and a cozy bonfire. Upon arrival, your experienced guide will greet you and provide thermal suits, boots, and gloves to ensure you stay warm and comfortable in the Arctic winter. Immerse yourself in the magic of a Norwegian winter with hands-on authentic activities designed for all ages. Try tandem skiing to test your balance, explore the snowy landscapes on snowshoes, and join these activities led by our expert guides. Listen to fascinating stories about Arctic life, skiing and the stunning surroundings and meet our friendly reindeer. Learn essential winter survival skills, like building and maintaining a fire in cold conditions. Warm up by the fire and grill your own sausage while enjoying a warm drink. With minimal light pollution, Camp Tamok offers one of the best settings to witness the Northern Lights. If they appear, our photography guide will capture professional portraits (with digital copies provided afterward) an/or help you take your own photos. Return by bus back to Tromsø after a magical evening outdoors at Camp Tamok.

• Cancellation due to weather: For the safety of our guests, there’s a small risk of cancellation in dangerous surface conditions (bad weather conditions). In those cases you will be offered to reschedule your tour to a different location or time slot, another substitute product, or a full refund.
• For the safety and comfort of all guests, our staff reserve the right to decline participation for anyone whose condition or behavior raises a safety concern, including but not limited to intoxication, being under the influence, or unsafe conduct.
• You should be prepared for outdoor weather conditions which can be harsh and unpredictable during Arctic winter.
• Please inform us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions upon booking. If no notice is given in advance, an extra fee of 150 NOK will be charged.
