You will be accompanied by our best northern lights guide and a certified driver in a warm comfortable bus. Our northern lights tours are conducted as a chase, according to our experience that gives you the best chances of seeing the northern lights.
About us
Our guides will use their knowledge, the latest weather forecast update, and work in team with our drivers who know road conditions very well to calculate the best route for the night. Apart from deciding where to go, one of the main job of our guides is to take photos of you, and preferably with the Aurora in the background when it is visible in the sky. Our guides has a lot of experience in catching the Northern Lights on camera, and can show you the right camera settings, give helpful tips and tell you all about the Northern Lights.

The meeting place for the Northern Lights Chase is inside the building Prostneset terminal (at the main entrance downstairs and close to the bus terminal). Address: Samuel Arnesens gate 5, 9008 Tromsø. The bus is marked with Arctic Guide Service.
From the 5th of September until the 6th of October 2025:
Meet up: 19:15; Departure: 19:30
From the 7th of October until the 19th of March 2026:
Meet up: 18:15; Departure: 18:30
From the 20th of March until the 5th of April 2026:
Meet up: 19:15; Departure: 19:30
This is to adapt the tour to the number of hours of daylight.
The following cancellation fees and deadlines apply:
A full refund is provided for cancellations made more than 24 hours prior to the start of the tour
No refund is provided for cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the start of the tour
NO SHOWS
Please note that no-show or missed departures are not refundable. For any reasons that may result in that you or your party are prevented from participating in a tour our policy offers 0% refund. In case of illness or other medical conditions we refer to our standard cancellation and refund policy. We highly recommend our guest to have travel insurance that will cover the expenses in events like these.
Cancellations/major changes by Arctic Guide Service
Cancellations or major changes may occur due to:
- Conditions that are beyond our control, e.g. weather, accidents/breakdowns, strikes etc.
- Conditions for the booking not being met, e.g. minimum number of participants etc. A minimum of 7 full-priced participants applies for this tour. Should this type of cancellation / major change occur, you will be offered an alternative. If you do not accept the alternative, we will provide you with a 100% refund.
Arctic Guide Service AS has no control over the exchange rate that will be calculated for refunds to credit cards and is not responsible for any loss incurred. Please note that Arctic Guide Service AS does not pay any bank fees incurred for international transfers, and that such fees are deducted from the amount to be refunded.
