Join a cross-country skiing course in beautiful Arctic surroundings in Tromsø, led by local guides, including former professional cross-country skiers.
General information
This tour is conducted by Tromsø Adventures.
They share both technical knowledge and a genuine passion for Norwegian skiing traditions.
We begin by handing out ski equipment and helping you adjust skis, poles, and boots. After a short safety briefing and introduction to basic techniques, we practice balance, diagonal stride, double poling, and simple turning techniques before heading out for a scenic ski tour in prepared trails.
Throughout the session, you receive personal guidance to help you develop at your own pace. This course is suitable for beginners as well as those who want to improve their skills. The activity takes place in and around Tromsø in peaceful and scenic surroundings, offering an authentic Arctic winter experience.
Private courses are available on request.

We always operate in small groups to ensure safety, quality and personal attention. Our guides are local and highly experienced in Arctic outdoor life. We make the most of the surrounding nature and showcase the accessible yet spectacular landscapes just outside Tromsø.
Winter season
In winter, we offer cross-country ski courses for beginners and intermediate participants, snowshoe hikes through quiet Arctic landscapes, sledding and cosy outdoor experiences with campfires in the snow. Whether it is your first time on skis or you want to improve your skills, we focus on building confidence, having fun and creating authentic winter experiences.
Summer season
Under the midnight sun, we arrange midnight sun hikes, mountain hikes, SUP tours and kayaking experiences in beautiful surroundings close to the city. The Arctic summer is bright, vibrant and full of energy – and we aim to give our guests a sense of calm, connection and shared adventure.
On our tours, we serve local Norwegian snacks – a true taste of Northern Norway – and create space for conversations and memorable moments around the fire, on the mountain or by the water.
We also tailor experiences on request for private groups, families and companies looking for something unique and personal.

Families and children
We tailor our experiences to families and adapt the pace and level to suit both children and adults. This personal approach makes our tours especially suitable for families with children aged approximately 6–7 and above, depending on the activity and previous experience. The activities are not suitable for young children aged 0–3.
Food
We offer local Norwegian snacks on our tours. Vegetarian and vegan options are available on request.
