This tour is operated by Kvaløya Husky.

Welcome to Kvaløya Husky, a place where you can experience the Arctic lifestyle together with our team and 57 Alaskan huskies. The kennel is located in Straumsbukta, a 45-minute drive from Tromsø city centre. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to see our dog yard and join the huskies on a dogsledding tour.

In the life of a musher, you feel the strength of a powerful team as the huskies take you through beautiful landscapes filled with trees, streams and mountains. This is exactly the kind of quality time our dogs love to share with us—taking us along on an adventure.

While sledding, keep your eyes open for reindeer, moose, foxes, ptarmigan, eagles and more. In our dog yard, we have a mix of young and older, playful and calm dogs. We would love to introduce you to them and tell you more about how we care for them through proper training, care, nutrition and animal welfare.

Before the tour, we prepare the teams and harness the dogs. The ride is calm and comfortable, making it suitable for both adults and children. If there is a lack of snow, we will offer the tour using our wheeled sleds.

Arctic boots and winter clothing are provided, but we recommend wearing a warm base layer, preferably wool, with a wool jumper or fleece on top. Please also bring a warm hat, scarf and gloves.

We do not recommend this activity for guests with back problems, epilepsy, heart conditions, or for those in the later stages of pregnancy.
