Join us for an adventure along Jægervatnet, where you can share a sled with a friend and experience what it is like to be a musher.

General information

This tour is operated by Kvaløya Husky.

After a 90-minute transfer from the city, you will arrive at our kennel located by Jægervatnet. Here, you will be provided with suitable winter clothing before we start preparing the sleds. You will get to see how we prepare the dogs, including harnessing them and attaching them to the sleds.

The guides will give you a short introduction to the basics of operating a sled before we set off. All participants will be divided into pairs, with one person acting as the driver and the other as the passenger. Halfway through the tour, we will have a short stop where you can switch roles.

During the activity, you will also have the opportunity to meet and spend time with the dogs.

A warm lunch will be served before we pack up and return to the city. The meal is a traditional Norwegian dish made from local ingredients.

Age requirement: Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Included: Guide, return transport, winter clothing, dog sledding and lunch

Please bring: Warm clothing (base layers), hat, scarf and mittens. Mobile phone or another small camera for taking photos.

Departure time and place: Meet at 8:45 AM outside the main entrance of Radisson Blu Hotel Tromsø. Departure is at 8:50 AM.

About Kvaløya Husky

Kvaløya Husky was founded in 2019. After several years of growing and learning, it has now moved to new grounds. Join us for the next chapter, on an adventure into the northern wilderness.


With a team of experienced mushers, we train and care for the dogs, with our new management guiding us towards a bright future.



We believe that life is best spent outdoors, and there is nothing better than spending time with animals. At the moment, we have around 20 Alaskan huskies in our kennel; a medium-sized polar dog breed for long-distance running. Our dogs range from puppies to senior dogs, with a wide range of personalities.



Our aim is to offer you an experience where you can disconnect from your daily life and enjoy the true beauty and spectacle of Arctic nature.
