Ekspress Aurora Hunt

Come with us on our Express Aurora Hunt for a guaranteed early return to Tromsø city centre.

General information

Leave the city lights behind and travel into the Arctic wilderness. During this activity, our small team of Aurora guides checks the forecasts and uses local knowledge to decide on the best place to chase the Northern Lights. On this tour, we will travel wherever looks safest and offers the best chances of seeing the Northern Lights, within 1 hour of Tromsø city centre. Once we arrive at the best location available, we will enjoy a warm drink and a sweet biscuit together while we wait. We'll have you back in the city centre by midnight, so you can be well rested the next morning.

Your guide will give you the option to have your photo taken, which will be available for purchase a few days after the tour.

About Wandering Owl

Wandering Owl is an Arctic-based tourism company offering all-inclusive, small-group activities year-round, with over 10 years of experience organising tours in the Tromsø region.

Our focus is on delivering high-quality, low-impact experiences that connect travellers with the Arctic wilderness in a meaningful and sustainable way. We are proud to be environmentally certified through the Travelife programme, reflecting our commitment to responsible tourism and minimising our impact on local ecosystems.

Our tours are open to everyone — whether you’re travelling solo, with friends, as a couple, or with family. They are generally suitable for young children as well, though minimum age requirements may vary depending on the specific activity. We encourage guests to check individual tour details for age suitability.

Our homemade meals are prepared using locally sourced ingredients from farmers in the Tromsø region, with a special emphasis on plant-based, vegan cuisine. We also accommodate a range of dietary needs, including gluten and lactose intolerances.

At the heart of everything we do is a mission to inspire care and protection for our fragile natural environment. By guiding small groups and sharing our knowledge of the Arctic, we hope to spark a lasting appreciation for nature that encourages our guests to help protect the wilderness for generations to come.
