Hellastua

Hella

Hella is a popular recreational area offering beautiful views, fascinating historic houses and excellent fishing opportunities, thanks to the strong tidal current.

About us

The tidal current at Hella is the strongest that ships on the Hurtigruten route sail through, making the area an excellent spot for fishing from the rocks. You can also see restored historic houses that have been relocated from Tromsø.

During summer, the café at Hellastua is open to visitors. Hella offers fantastic views of the island of Ryøya and the 1,200-metre (4,000-foot) Bentsjordtindan mountains.
