This tour is operated by Arctic Circle Tours Tromsø.
Enjoy the views of mountains and fjords while our experienced guides help you chase the Northern Lights. Our guides have helped thousands of guests fulfil their Northern Lights dreams.
If the group consists of 1–7 guests, a minivan will be used. For larger groups, a minibus will be used.
The adventure begins as we travel through dark landscapes far from light pollution, passing through valleys and over mountains that plunge into the fjords.
The warm and comfortable minibus is equipped with a heated tent and a camping toilet for your comfort. This is a great advantage when the temperatures drop and the tour lasts for several hours. You can enjoy food and drinks without worries.
Our popular onboard sky camera displays the Northern Lights on a TV screen, allowing you to spot the aurora even before it becomes visible to the naked eye. It also helps us detect increased aurora activity and find a safe place to stop.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the tour, allowing you to make video calls or share photos from your experience.
Your guide will take professional portraits, landscape photos, videos and timelapse recordings throughout the tour. These are sent to you free of charge in full resolution on the journey back to Tromsø.
You can borrow sturdy tripods and receive assistance with camera or phone settings.
While sitting around the bonfire in comfortable chairs, you can enjoy the warmth of the fire and grill sausages, including vegetarian and vegan options. From our serving table, you can help yourself to snacks, hot drinks and locally made soup.
You will learn about the science behind the Northern Lights, hear myths and stories, watch videos and learn how to interpret information in Northern Lights apps.
When we return to Tromsø city centre, we can drop you off at your hotel or Airbnb. The tour ends where it began, at Skolegata 24 (Ami Hotel).
If we do not see the Northern Lights, you will receive a 50% discount on a future tour with us, subject to availability.

Minimum age: 5 years (accompanied by a parent or guardian)
Included: English-speaking guide, transport, warm clothing, hot chocolate, coffee, doughnuts, hot soup, grilled sausages over the fire, assistance with photography using your own camera, portraits under the Northern Lights and full-resolution landscape photos
Please bring: Your passport if the tour crosses the border into Finland, a warm hat, mittens, thermal underwear and a camera or smartphone
