Join a Northern Lights cruise from Tromsø and experience the Arctic evening from the sea. After darkness settles over the city, you will head out aboard a modern, quiet catamaran towards darker areas in the fjords around Tromsø in search of the Northern Lights.

During the cruise, the local guide and experienced crew keep an eye on the weather conditions and Northern Lights activity. The guide shares knowledge about the Aurora Borealis, from the science behind the phenomenon to the myths and stories that have fascinated people for generations.

On board, you can relax in a warm lounge with panoramic windows, dimmed lighting and comfortable leather seats. When conditions are right, head outside onto the spacious decks to watch the Arctic night sky and enjoy views of the surrounding landscape.

Complimentary coffee and tea are available throughout the cruise. The onboard café also offers a selection of food, snacks and other refreshments for purchase.

The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed. If you do not see the Northern Lights during your cruise, you will receive a free ticket for the next available Northern Lights cruise with Rødne within the same winter season, subject to availability.

• Gloves or mittens
• Scarf
• Winter boots with good grip

Dress warmly and in several layers so you can comfortably spend time outside on deck. Please note that crampons and spiked shoes are not permitted on board.

Level of difficulty: Easy

Meeting time and place: No later than 8:40 PM (20:40) at Nerstrandkaia, by Alti Nerstranda Shopping Centre, Nerstranda 9, 9008 Tromsø.

Departure time: 9 PM (21:00)

Duration: Approximately 2–2.5 hours. The duration may vary slightly depending on weather and sea conditions. There is no disembarkation during the cruise.

• If the Northern Lights are not seen, you will receive a free ticket for the next available Northern Lights cruise within the same winter season, subject to availability.
• Crampons and spiked shoes are not permitted on board.

• When booking an attendant ticket, valid attendant documentation must be presented on board.

Accessibility:

• Suitable for pushchairs.

• The crew will assist passengers and wheelchairs when boarding and disembarking.
• The same conditions apply to pushchairs.
