Located in beautiful Lyngen, our basecamp is surrounded by breathtaking fjords, mountains and islands. With a good distance from the city, you'll find minimal artificial light pollution — providing optimal conditions for viewing the northern lights.

Step into our Crystal Lavvo for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Sleep in a lavvo heated by a wood-burning fireplace for an authentic Arctic experience. The lavvo is equipped with a glass ceiling, allowing you to keep an eye on the sky at all times — even from the comfort of your bed.

Enjoy the freedom of spending the entire night searching for the northern lights from the warmth and comfort of your lavvo. If you're lucky, you might even catch several different “outbursts” during the night.

Spend the night in a glass-roofed Crystal Lavvo at Aurora Wonderland Basecamp in Lyngen, surrounded by Arctic nature and the dramatic landscape of the Lyngen Alps.

Your stay begins with transport from Tromsø to the basecamp, where you can settle into your Crystal Lavvo and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The glass roof gives you the opportunity to watch the night sky from the comfort of your bed and, if conditions are right, see the Northern Lights above you.

During your stay, you can explore the Arctic landscape on a guided hike or snowshoe walk, depending on the season and conditions. Meals are included, giving you time to relax at the basecamp and enjoy the surroundings between activities.

Each Crystal Lavvo offers a cosy place to stay, with a glass roof and wood-burning fireplace. The overnight stay includes transport from Tromsø, accommodation, meals and guided activities.

As the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, sightings cannot be guaranteed. However, staying overnight in Lyngen gives you the opportunity to enjoy the Arctic night away from the city while keeping an eye on the sky throughout your stay.

Transportation to the basecamp

Enjoy the scenic journey from Tromsø to Aurora Wonderland Basecamp, including a short ferry crossing with views of the surrounding mountains and fjords.

Lunch and activity

Upon arrival, you will be served a freshly prepared fish soup before heading out on a guided 2 km hike. Depending on snow and weather conditions, the activity will take place on foot or with snowshoes.

Evening and Crystal Lavvo

After dinner, your guides will share the latest Northern Lights forecast and prepare the wood-burning fireplace in your Crystal Lavvo.

Spend the night in your warm and cosy lavvo, where the glass roof gives you the opportunity to watch the Arctic sky from your bed. You can also explore the basecamp and look for the Northern Lights outside.

Breakfast and return

The following morning, a traditional Norwegian breakfast is served before the return journey to Tromsø city centre.
