Self-drive dog sledding

General information

You get your own sled to drive along with a friend or another guest, and you will switch in the middle of the track. You can enjoy the arctic coastal nature with fantastic view over Tromsø, surrounded with white covered mountains and long fjords.

One of our experienced guides will teach you the basics of dog sledding and then we set off into the wilderness! You will share the sled with another guest; one driving, one riding it as the passenger and at the halfway point you will switch. In total you will be on the sled for about 45-60 minutes depending on the weather conditions.

Professional guides are leading the group in their own sleds. After a trip out in the Norwegian winter a meal of Bidos, prepared with reindeer meat, broth and vegetables are just what the body needs.

We serve the meal in our camp around the fire (vegetarian meal available on request).

We have a minimum age of 16 years to drive the sled, this is for yours and the dog's safety. If you are concerned at all please contact us or book the Ride tour and one of our experienced mushers will drive the sled for you.

Duration of the dog sled drive is 45-60 minutes.

This tour has several departures, check your booking confirmation for the correct departure time.
