Vulkana

Vulkana is a traditional fishing boat from 1957 that has been transformed into a unique spa and adventure boat while preserving its original charm.

About us

In 2009, architect Sami Rintala carefully redesigned the vessel, utilizing her traditional shape. Where 60 tons of cod were once stored, there is now a Japanese-inspired Zen Lounge and a Turkish hammam. The main deck features a wood-fired sauna and a restaurant area of up to 14. A viewing deck and a wood-fired hot tub are available on the deck. From the top deck, you can take a refreshing swim in the sea.

Whether it's an Arctic spa, a private cruise, ski-by-boat expeditions, fishing, or a golf cruise, Vulkana will cater to your needs. The pop-up dinner parties of the Vulkana Supper Club are not to be missed. A few times per year, high-profiled talented chefs from around the world cook onboard Vulkana for a limited amount of guests, using local and seasonal food, and bringing their cuisine to the town of Tromsø. Vulkana promises high-quality food, discreet and friendly crew, and a raw, unpolished experience of Northern Norway.

Find a suitable time for you and your friends to indulge in our Northern piece of heaven.

Vulkana has its home pier and departure in the old part of town called «Bangsundbrygga», right between the Polar Museum and "Kystens hus".

The above activities are suitable for children from 12 (accompanied by adults) up until 16.00.

Not suitable for wheelchair users.
