Join a guided cruise takes you to the areas where these graceful giants come in search of herring.

You can experience the whales through the panoramic windows of the spacious and comfortable lounge on board, then step out into the crisp Arctic air on deck to get even closer to them.

MS Gabriele is warm and cosy, allowing you to enjoy the journey comfortably between visits to the outdoor decks.

Humpback whales can grow up to 16 metres long and are known for their spectacular breaches, when they burst straight out of the water. Black-and-white orcas travel in large groups in search of herring. If we are lucky, we may also see porpoises and a variety of wild Arctic birds.

We take animal welfare seriously and operate with great respect and caution around the whales. We follow Visit Tromsø’s guidelines for whale watching in Tromsø.

Tromsø is located north of the Arctic Circle. Although the Polar Night lasts from 27 November to 15 January, there are still hours of magical blue twilight during parts of the day. The boat trip from Tromsø through the spectacular fjord landscape is magical.

The duration of the trip depends on where the whales are located and may therefore vary. There is no disembarkation during the trip.

Whale guarantee

There is no guarantee that you will see whales on this whale-watching tour, but we work with some of the most experienced skippers in the industry, who will do everything they can to help you experience them.

If you do not see humpback whales or orcas during the tour, do not worry – you will have the opportunity to join the next available whale-watching tour completely free of charge.

• Smoking is allowed on the outdoor decks.
• The itinerary may be adjusted in case of adverse weather conditions.
• We reserve the right to cancel a departure if there are fewer than 10 participants on the tour.
